My First Post (...an Introduction)

I've often wondered what blogging achieved and why it was there and then, without realising it, during the course of 2008, I found myself reading an awful lot of blogs. One thing that I didn't come across was something that talked about the issues facing quantity surveyors and (not just quantity surveyors) but the issues facing small to medium sized professional consultancy practices involved in construction in the UK at this time.

Part of what I'm doing here is an experiment - to see the value of web 2.0 type tools and part of what I'm doing is a bit of a need to get things off my chest. Part of this may turn into a soap box, part may be just some news worth talking about and/or about new initiatives worth discussing. At this point I've no real idea. I've just got a bizarre curiosity to see if anyone reads it!

I'll apologize in advance for the quality of my writing to any journalist types reading, but I was always a maths kind of person at school - only just got by in English Language 'O' Level.

Not sure where this is going to take me but, hey.......
